Vegas, Baby!

It seems like whenever I talk with people about magic, the conversation eventually comes around to magic shows in Las Vegas. Las Vegas offers an incredible array of magic options. If you're planning on spending some time in Sin City and you want to see some great magic, here are a few recommendations for you.

If you want big and flashy, nobody does it better than David Copperfield at the MGM Grand. David is still the King of Magic and his show is amazing. Tickets can be a little expensive, but it's worth it to see one of the true icons of magic doing what he does so well.

For an afternoon show, you can't beat Mac King at Harrah's. Mac does a show that's family-friendly and fun. His hometown, goofy personality draws you in and then he hits you with some truly amazing magic. Mac has been doing this show on the Vegas Strip for a long time...and for good reason. Mac is well-respected among magicians and is regarded as one of the funniest magicians working today. If you have a chance to see his show, I'd recommend it.

Xavier Mortimer. You may have never heard the name, but you'll never forget his magic. He's very innovative and does some things that really amaze me. This is the show that magicians go to when they're in Las Vegas. He's at the Sincity Theater in Planet Hollywood. Do yourself a favor and see him.

Finally...it's not magic, but...

At the V Theater in the Miracle Mile Shops, there's a show called "Zombie Burlesque." It's fun, funny, sort of naughty and AMAZING. It features incredible dancing, a fun story line, truly funny comedy, a contortionist, audience participation....and even a little bit of magic. It's NOT a show for kids, but if you like adult humor that isn't too raunchy and you're willing to let your hair down a little bit, this is a fun show.
