Pine Ridge/Wounded Knee

Every now and then, opportunities present themselves. I just finished performing a few shows in the Sturgis, South Dakota area and wanted to do something special on my way back to Omaha. I made arrangements to stop by Wolf Creek Elementary on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and perform a free show for their students. Pine Ridge is one of the poorest areas in the United States. After the show, I made a small detour to visit the Wounded Knee Memorial.

I had always heard about Wounded Knee, but never really knew the whole story. It is certainly a sad chapter of our nation's history.

I am so happy to have made so many new friends at Wolf Creek Elementary and I look forward to coming back!
